Beacons Telecom Ltd needed to install nearly 6km of fibre optic cable down a busy trunk road in the Brecon Beacons. Using Openreach PIA, most of the existing chambers were in the carriageway leaving little choice of where to put track joints along the route to avoid future traffic management.
It was critical to do this in 2 runs, the maximum of which was just under 4 km, the maximum length on our cable drums.
We chose Blow and Go due to their confidence in doing the work in the timescales permitted for our traffic management and in the lengths that we needed.
We needn’t have worried. From the time they arrived on site, they set about the task with absolute professionalism and determination and finished with a day to spare.
It’s rare for jobs to be delivered on time and under budget but Blow and Go did just that.

Voneus, a national operator of rural broadband networks, acquired local operator LonsdaleNET back in 2020 and with it a small amount of private fibre, most of it blown fibre bundle.
In March 2023, a major trunk route stretch of fibre suffered a cable strike causing the entire network to go offline.
Blow and Go were chosen due to their previous work for LonsdaleNET as well as having the required cable in stock and being able to attend the remote site right away to conduct the repair.
The Blow & Go team were on site within hours of the fibre break and the majority of customers back online within 12 hours of the incident occurring.

We were called into to "overblow" a short stretch of 144f fibre where a contractor had been unable to pull in a new stretch of microduct under and extremely busy trunk 4 way junction.
The contractor had spent some time attempting to pull in a new section of microduct, but the duct was congested and had collapsed around 30m into the crossing.
Permitting was going to delay the installation for some weeks as the crossing was on a trunk route.
This was the last chance for contractor to get the cable in and reach a strict deadline - Blow and Go completed it in 2hrs (from arrival to offsite)

Neil Christie at Aberdeen based Converged Communications contacted Blow & Go to install several routes for their fast expanding network in and around Aberdeen. We advised Neil and his team on the best sub ducts and fibre combinations to get the best from his cabling and piping works. In August we travelled up to Aberdeen (not a trip for feint hearted) and have since travelled up 2 further times blowing in a total now of over 20km. Their network covers all major industrial Estates in and around Aberdeen and the second the cable is blown Converged get busy hooking up their customers.
